August 16-26, 2007 was the Kentucky State Fair in Louisville at Kentucky Kingdom/ 6 Flags over KY. Throughout the week of the fair were free concerts bringing out the best in pop, soul, rock, country and Christian music in Cardinal Stadium. Artist like Alice Cooper, Oak Ridge Boys, Gary Allen, Black Shelton, and Tracy Lawerence were all there. All that had to be paid was entering the fairgrounds and parking. I went Monday, August 20th to see MercyMe opened up by Tree63.
I also went Friday, August 24 Switchfoot opened by special guest Emerson Hart. On Monday night I went alone, but on Friday night I went with a couple of co-workers. We had a great time doing the Friday night thing... going out to eat and unwinding from work and then going to enjoy a concert.
Overall, a nice experience.
