U of L Basketball

What better thing to do on a girls day out than go to a UofL basketball game! A women's basketball game. A couple of us girls in the local area here decided to go Sunday, December 9th to see the Women Cardinals smack down the Xavier team and grab lunch at Cracker Barrel. Great times of hangin' out, enjoying a B-ball game, filling our bellows with good, southern cookin', and just fun fellowship with girlfriends!

KY Special Olympics

The Special Olympics Kentucky State Golf Tournament was held on Sunday at Lindsey Golf Course on Fort Knox for the second year in a row. When the event teed off on Sunday, August 26, there were 86 golfers Of those golfers, 70 competed in the Unified Sports 9-hole alternate shot competition, which pairs a Special Olympics athlete with a non-disabled golfer. Thirteen athletes competed in the skills competition and three competed in individual 9-hole stroke play. Even though I don't know to much about golf, I had a great time keeping score for a unified team learning about golf and getting to know others within the community.

Otter Creek

This past weekend I took a camping trip out at Otter Creek. I packed up my tent, sleeping bags, and some food to eat. It was a nice break away from the every day "business as usual."

It was a great opportunity to see and experience the great outdoors. It was also an opportunity to enjoy a hobby of mine (taking pictures) as well as read (which is becoming an enjoyable escape/ stress releaver).

I also took the opportunity to go back onto Ft Knox and watch the girls fast pitch softball tournament. Here are a few pictures from it.

Organizational Day

Organizational Day is a day set aside for soldiers, civilians, and their families to gather around for food, fun, and fellowship. This year, Ft Knox held it's annual Post Organizational Day at Killanski Sports Complex. Why at a Sports Complex? Even though it is a nice day to be out of uniform and away from work, there's also the opportunity to display unit pride and cohesiveness through sporting competions.
